Technical FAQ's for Geemarc CL 100 telephone
What is the purpose of the 4 AAA batteries in the Geemarc CL 100?
The batteries make the telephone ringing sound approximately 10dB louder, they do nothing else.
If you are happing with the volume of the ringing sound you need not fit the batteries.
If the CL100 does not ring at all then fitting batteries will make no difference, you need to solve the source of the problem.
'I think I have a faulty CL 100, the bell does not work but the flashing light makes a noise as it flashes should I return the telephone for you to get the bell working?'
Interesting, firstly can I assure you that the flashing light does not make any sound so I am certain that it is the normal ringing that you can hear. As with most modern telephones the CL100 does not have an old fashioned bell sound but more of a chirping sound which happens in time with the flashing light, I think this is what you are describing.
Let me phone you back and you can tell me what you hear. Ok, so you heard the telephone to answer it, good in that case I would think that the CL100 is working fine. It may be worth trying the other two ringing sounds alternatively if the ringer is not loud enough you consider purchasing one of our audible or visual telephone ring indicators.

For your information, there is a 3 position switch on the right hand side of a CL100 to control the ringing sound volume - Off, Low sound and Normal sound. The operating instructions explain how you can change the type of ringing sound, but to be honest on this model of phone the difference between the 3 sounds is minimal.
