Listening to the TV FAQ
I have just had a new DVD fitted to my TV system and now the loop is faulty and picking up the TV sound when I watch a DVD, if I return the loop amplifier for repair how long will it take?
Well the good news is that there would appear to be nothing wrong with your loop amplifier. The fact that you can hear good sound from it (albeit the wrong sound) tells us that the amplifier is working. Your problem is simply that when the new items were added the connections are wrong somewhere.
There are lots of connection permutations when connecting up TV's, DVD's etc. and from experience as every situation is different it is not the sort of problem we can help you with over the phone or by email. We do have another FAQ here which may help otherwise we suggest that you talk with whoever supplied you the new items and ask them for their help.
If you would like a helpful suggestion, when you talk with your local TV shop; instead of talking about connecting into a loop amplifier or other assistive listening product can we suggest initially talking about wanting to connect into a hi-fi system. The process is the same and the question will probably be one they have answered before.
