Listening to the TV FAQ
I recently purchased an loop system for my son. This works very well with the TV but when we try to play a DVD we seem to get interference and the sound is very faint. Instead we get television channels through the system and sometimes the channels seem to change as though we were picking up another TV. We only have the 1 TV in our house though. I would be grateful for your advice on this matter.
Because the loop system works fine with the TV there can be no problem with the loop itself.
It sounds like you have a problem with the way you have the system connected and the loop is not picking up the DVD sound via the TV - it depends exactly where you have the loop system plugged in and how that output socket is configured in the TV setup.
Working out the connections of multiple bits of home AV equipment is not easy and we would suggest that you discuss face to face with your local DVD/TV supplier who, as they supplied you the equipment, will be familiar with the SCART and audio connections and should be able to solve your problem. It may be necessary to use a SCART switching box.
