Likewise for digital cable TV.
It sounds like you are trying to use '888' subtitles? There are 'proper' subtitles as an inherent part of Sky digital (I have it at home) and Cable TV, you can record them on ANY video/cd/computer or whatever, you just have to turn them on in the digibox - if your TV can see them then the video can. You do not need any special equipment to record Sky subtitles, if you are having problems with activating subtitles please refer questions to Sky or other service provider or visit the Sky website subtitle page for details on how to activate proper subtitles rather than using '888' which are mainly disused for Sky nowadays. Should you not have upgraded to Sky digital then do so!
