Fire alarm - FAQ
Can you suggest a simple solution which can alert a deaf student in campus accommodation to a fire alarm using a pager if possible?
There are a couple of products you could consider.
For night time alerting only (eg for someone who would hear the fire alarm during the day when they were wearing their hearing aids but not when they took them out at night) a 24 volt vibrator pad for wiring into a commercial integrated 24v building fire alarm system would be a good solution. However you will need to get costings from the fire system maintainers for fitting the socket. You will also of course need to have prior details of exactly which room the student(s) will be living in. Please follow this link for details.

If you require daytime alerting as well you could consider one of our 433 pager system, but please bear in mind that this system is not capable of being monitored by the fire system. Also the range of this system would cover a relatively small area i.e. the student's individual accommodation but not the other areas. The operational range of this system in open space is 150 metres. This range will be reduced by physical objects such as walls, metalwork, etc.. Please follow this link for product details.

For daytime alerting to cover large sites - a Pagetek On-site vibrating Paging System would be the answer. Please follow this link for full details.

I hope the above information will be helpful to you. Please give me a ring if you would like to discuss the various options.
