Telephones for hearing aid users at home - FAQ
A few days after I ordered computer broadband my amplified telephone in the lounge has had nasty noises. I have fitted the microfilter supplied by my supplier as directed to the new modem but that has made no difference. What do you suggest?
The installer is currently enjoying a ski holiday but the phone has been tested on a non broadband line and does function correctly. It has been moved to a broadband line and works there too. The fault obviously lies somewhere on the original line used.
I do not think there is a problem with either your telephone line or the amplifier telephone.
With broadband you must ensure that every telephone socket on your line with a phone, sky TV box or fax machine etc. is properly filtered using a microfilter - not just the broadband modem.
Because amplified telephones amplify both the telephone call and also any system noise, problems associated with broadband and missing microfilters are exaggerated.
You can purchase microfilters from our website here.
