Telephones for hearing aid users at home - FAQ
Hi, Could you help. I have 2 digital hearing aids and they are very good but I need a phone that is compatible with them, my present cordless just buzz's when I use it and then I have to take out my aid to listen but it is very low. Do I need a new phone or something to make it louder?
I think you need a new telephone - if your telephone was louder then your interference noise would be louder as well!
As you have discovered, the digital signal from cordless home phones can cause interference on hearing aids (both digital or analogue) just the same as mobile telephones do.
Connevans offer a choice of cordless telephones for home use. Hearing aid users can use the Geemarc DECT250 with a CLA7 neck loop. The neck loop allows use with a hearing aid 'T' pickup without interference noise. Details of the cordless telephones that we sell can be found on our www.DeafEquipment.co.uk website here

The Geemarc DECT250 with a CLA7 neck loop is our normal recommendation for hearing aid users with a 'T' pickup.
How does a hearing aid 'T' pickup work?
