I notice that some of your domestic loop amplifiers offer a 'Microphone priority feature', what could this be used for ?
The microphone priority is a nice feature that allows a microphone, placed near a telephone, door bell or other sound source, to override and reduce the sound from the TV sound input and give the microphone sound priority to the loop user.
Listening to a room loop with your hearing aid set to 'T' usually means that the hearing aid microphone is muted. This has the advantage that the hearing aid user is not affected by general room noise, door banging etc.. However it also has the disadvantage that the hearing aid user cannot hear somebody in the room speaking to them, without switching their hearing aids back to 'M'. If a second microphone, for a partner or friend in the room, is used with the priority feature, then when the person talks the TV sound would be reduced and their voice would be heard through the loop system.
The priority feature operates for either a microphone and/or SCART or other direct connection.
