I live in UK, I intend going on holiday to the Caribbean shortly, would I be able to use my "SMARTLINK SX " abroad without modification? What modification would be needed if any?

The Phonak Smartlink Sx system operates in the frequency area of 173.35-175.00MHz in the UK (Phonak reference H band). You should check with the embassy of the country you are intending to visit to ask if this frequency area may be used; otherwise you may find yourself picking up unwanted transmissions or causing interference yourself. The Smartlink has an operating range of about 20-25M.

It is not possible to easily change the operating frequency range of the Smartlink to a different channel band.
