Crescendo Personal Amplifier FAQ
When using an assistive listening device is the sound sufficiently amplified through the hearing aid to enable them to hear speech clearly?
That's a good question to ask, but in practice it will probably be the hearing aid's quality of sound which will be the limiting factor. Also, it is the hearing aid which provides the volume. Is the hearing aid user happy with the hearing aid quality of sound when you talk with them at arm's length in a quiet room? If not then you will need to return to your audiology clinic to have your hearing aid re-assessed before you can judge whether an assistive product is suitable.
Assistive listening products will help maintain the quality of sound of the hearing aid reducing the problematical effects of room acoustics and listening at a distance the other side of a room to sound from the TV speaker. It is not possible to improve on the inherent quality of a hearing aid, just maintain it.
