Admin FAQ about using the Connevans and DeafEquipment web sites
Hello, I am trying to order a home loop system on your website. The problem comes when I try to enter my address, I am a Civil Servant working in Germany with the British Forces and I am using a BFPO (British Forces Post Office) postcode. There are a number of sites that now accept BFPO addresses but I am saddened to find that yours is not one of them having been recommended to me by my hearing specialist and him giving me the magazine details of your site. Is there a way to resolve this? I look forward to your reply?
As you have discovered we are not able to accept orders from BFPO addresses. The problem is that it is quite a complex matrix to work out the cost of sending trackable parcels to BFPO addresses + the inconsistencies of whether VAT is chargeable - on an automated website the implementation is expensive to cope with all the variations. We have investigated the possibility and regrettably we cannot currently justify the several hundred pound cost of software modifications.
Another concern of ours is that once delivered to London and receipted by the BFPO system the insurance risk would need to pass to yourself as we are then unable to track the parcel.
We can offer you two possibilities.
Firstly. In the case of Germany our standard cost of delivery is little different to what we would charge to your BFPO address so we suggest that you simply order via our website to your conventional Germany postal address.
Secondly. Whilst the website cannot accpet BFPO address orders but we can accept conventional orders by fax, post or email for BFPO addresses - but please remember that once receipted by BFPO the insurance risk passes to the purchaser.
I hope that this explains the situation.
