Sense is a charity that was set up 48 years ago and was initially started by two mums who were drawn together by the enormous difficulties they faced of bringing up children who had been born both deaf and blind through the effects of the rubella virus during pregnancy.

But because of the expertise built up Sense can now work with a much wider group of people - those with complex needs, people who are perhaps deaf or blind but also have learning disabilities - people with multiple disabilities.
